More than likely the diff. Could be carrier bearings but most likely the pinion bearings. Is there oil leaking from the pinion seal? How long since the diff oils been changed?

I would definately check your tyres first to see if they have any feathering or scalloping (can sound like a bearing), tyre pressures?, its always good to check easy things first. Hope that helps.
Carrier bearings should change note when power on or off, axle bearings will change note when turn from side to side while driving along so as to apply load to bearings.
