Just realised that it was back in March 2007 that offroad80s was started. 10 years we've been here helping 80 series owners and potential owners. I just wanted to send a big thank you out to all of you for making this place what it is today. I'm sure there's still a few members around that have been here since the first year.

Hi all
I purchased my 80 in feb 2001 with 107k as a base ex telstra and fitted most of the bits immediately.
I joined up in May 2008 and still have the same 80 only with more miles and rattles ( still only has 360k ).
It has taken me to a lot of places. It has travelled to the Cape numerous times as I worked up at Seisa for 2 1/2 years and got to visit a lot of remote properties as well.
I am also a regular to Landcruiser Mountain Park still to this day as I do some work there as well.
The last couple of years have been working local so not clocking up many miles.
I have enjoyed and learnt a lot from this forum and still log in on a regular basis.

Thanks 2 you Shane, as none of us would be here without you starting this site in the first place mate.
I been here only about 2 years but I still login nearly every day to see if anyone has posted something new.

Happy B'day Offroad80's.

I am a relative newbie, joined only 7 years ago. Happy Birthday Offroad80s!! and also a big thanks to Shane for starting the website. Traded in a HJ60 for an 80 in Oct 2002 as we needed more seating on occasions. It had 217,000km on it, now just about to click over 447,000km. Mainly a daily driver, but has done some long and off road trips. These days the big event seems to be up to the ghost town of Farina in the Northern Flinders Ranges, loaded with tools and dragging the caravan for my annual 2 week stint as a volunteer for the Farina Restoration Group.

Well I've had two 80's in the past, and in all honesty you guys should be thankful that Im now in a Disco as both of my 80's have ended up written off.

So not really sure I want to push my luck with a 3rd 80, but the bonus is you guys may see a written off Disco sometime in the future (ok I really hope that dosent happen as poor old me will be in the *******) I'm still sad not to be driving an 80, but unfortantly with 4 kids the 3rd row setup is not the most practical for everyday use in the 80. You never know however as one day I may end up with a play 4x4 and that would definatly be an 80 :)

Happy birthday offroad80s!

Been around since 2008. Purchased my 80 shortly after and still have the old girl today. She's a bit different now though - the back end of her fell off and she's now an extra cab.

I have gathered a plethora of info from this site which helped in purchasing an 80, maintaining and improving/accessorising her.

Thanks Shane for the effort in putting together such an awesome forum for us 80 owners :spoton:

Got your email today too, but visit here most days to have a look. Guilty of not posting much, but of late haven't done much either apart from break things on the 80. Just got the rear diff back together and sorted out my little fopar on the axle hub to now having another fopar with the winch and found the front locker not working.

I got my first 80 at Xmas 2011, and joined this group not long after.
It has been a great help on my 80 journey, and hopefully I have made a difference for someone on here too.
Looking forward to the next 10 years.
Happy Birthday offroad80's.com

I joined 7 years ago when I got my first 80, it's now in the back yard as a spare truck   as it was put through hell hehehe

I have another 80 now and its already blown the motor so a new 1 went in unfortunately i didn't have enough for a LS conversion
so I put in an almost new 1fzfe and it hasn't missed a beat ever since

HAPPY BIRTHDAY OFFROAD80S.COM

Thanks to Shane for running it these last ten years, helped everyone save money by being able to do there own repairs and probably the sanity of a few people trying to sort out problems

Happy birthday number 10. I wonder how many more. I now don't have an 80. We had our 4 years and 3 months. An experience I don't plan repeating any time soon.
The high lights. A trip to Camerons Corner September 2014. Camping trips to Bunyip and Echuca.
The low points. Discovering we had bought a lemon. A very expensive lemon.
Now we have a new Toyota Kluger AWD. It has already proven to be a worthy contender to the 80. This week we will be towing our Jayco Swift on a 2000 kilometre road trip. The 80 didn't like towing. It will be interesting to see if the Kluger does any better. Watch this space.
I wish this forum well. There are plenty of 40 year old Cruisers around.

Wow, time flies hey, I was still a teenager when I signed up here, hit the big 30 in a few months

Massive shoutout goes out to Shane for putting your hard work and no doubt hard earned into the forum, especially so now that you don't even own an 80! Thanks to you I've gained a wealth of knowledge, saved a tonne of cash, gone on some unforgettable trips and turned a bunch of obscure usernames off the internet into good friends.

Cheers mate!

Dan.
