Well as most of you know by now, I've got a fridge console to go into my cruiser. So I'll start making a bit of a write up as I go in this thread. Hopefully I can get this to a working state, Im just glad I've got this forum as a help. Im going to be needing some wiring diagrams etc..so I'll have a look at getting a toyota body and chassis manual CD from ebay

Can I ask why you would want to fit a factory fridge?

My Jap import 80 has one, Ive just had the A/C re-gassed and its not great to tell you the truth.

Perhaps the only way that it would work well is if you left it on all the time, otherwise being in the region of the g/box/transfer/prop shaft - it gets rather warm inside.

Will be interesting to see how you go with it.

Good luck,

Dave

Big job Shane. Did you get all the special AC piping with it?
I have compared the GXL and Sahara AC piping and there is a fair bit of difference with special pipes under bonnet and under vehicle.

Good luck with it. I would love one but would suffer anal glaucoma if I picked up the bits to do the job.

Well Shane, I will be watching this project with interest - make sure you takes pictures of all the stages as you do it... :)

I was thinking of buying the same one you got from ebay and then ckickened out when I thought about what it would involve... but I would love to have one in my cruiser...

Well, all finally arrived today. So I'll have to have a look at it all sometime this week. Time to start thinking about this. If anyone has any good wiring diagrams that cover the AC system can they either post it up or email them to me.

Thanks again to sniper for picking it up and dropping it off at the depot - your a legend

Just having a look at all the tubes and I reckon I'll throw new orings in before bolting them up - now Im assuming that they are not your average run of the mill o-ring material, or are they? Reason I ask is I have a nice big oring kit, but its all just standard stuff.

They are the same as used in quality weed spray bottles, viton. Should be real easy to get , also any auto sparky will have them on hand.

Cheers Glenn
