Gday Jason and welcome to the forum, you have made a good start with the mods you have done so far, what else do you plan on doing to the old girl before the big trip ?

Cheers
Dan

Next on the list is a suspension lift and larger tyres.
I just have to work out how much to lift and what size tyres

welcome Jason, nice looking truck, its also the right colour. Lift will depend on your ultimate plans for your truck but I believe a 2" lift and 285/75r16 tyres are all you need for touring. If you want to play harder then bigger is better of course.

I cheat this way as I have a tourer, a play truck and work in progress so I just take the one I need for the trip. Wonder if ive seen your truck around as I work around Newcastle and see 80s everywhere.

welcome to the forum, Im running a 3" lift and I think its a good comprimise lift height. Not too high for touring, but just high enough to tackle some harder tracks

Hey mate, nice clean 80 you've got there.

I run 2" lift and 305/70r16s on mine and they fit without scrubbing at full flex - I'm not sure I'd go this size again tho, probably just stick to 285/75r16s as they are pretty much exactly the same rolling diameter

Cheers
Nick
