thought i would post up some pictures of the tube bars we are now making at work. there a 3 piece design as in having a centre and then have the wings attach to that. we decided to go that way so if you were to damage them its as easy as buying a new wing instead of a whole bar. they will take up to a 15000lbs warn low mount winch have tabs to take up to 7 spotlights, 2 arieal mounts. there are also holes for 2 recovery hooks as well as 2 recovery eyelets. they are available through opposite lock stores and quite few others. the name of them is not my choice but the bosses, (xrox). the company i work for is outback accessories here in jandakot w.a and we frieght all over the country so not just available over here. unfortunatly we do not deal with the public we are wholesale only. we will be extending the range as we go to include rock sliders and bash plates. at the moment we have available 80srs, 100srs including ifs and live (airbag approved), gq and gu (airbag approved). boo to the datto.

gearhead, is the version you have shown on your car in 128.jpg the final version? does it stick out that far past the flares in the final production version?

Does it also stop at the same wrap around point as shown in 129.jpg?

I notice the production pics of the bar off the car has all the bolts now painted.

just took these photos then little bit dark but, if i remember will get some tomorrow. oh by the way jsttry tom from opposite lock just ordered one in its leaving here on friday i think if you want to have a look at one in person. he also ordered the gu and 100. yeah turned out toatally different bar in the end to that. got rid of the recovery eyelets down the bottom of the bar and added eyelet bolt provisions instead hugged the side bars closer to the car and made them longer. dont forget my flares have had a quite a bit chopped off them as well

Bit of surface rust yeh, painting or powder coating these bars?

Any chance the company you work for will do a group buy direct and skip the middle man?

*I'm not interested in one, but others might be...

Thanks, might call Tom tomorrow. One of his mechanics has a 80 series and he has a GU so they're probably going on them.

Interesting to see what RRP is.

In your next run have a think about tapering the cut on the ends so its more in line with the curve of the body as an idea.

yeah the will be powdercoated with a zinc phosfuros (spelling)coat then powdercoated in black this one was painted as it wasnt worth painting with the changes we were doing with the cutting and the welding its just easier to touch up the paint then the powdercoat. nah he wont sell direct as it will p*ss off some of his customers and we could lose them so just easier to be wholesaler only.

Yep, Kev's got a DX with 2" lift and 33" MTZ's now.

The 80 series bar is just for display/sale so will check it out when he gets in. He is selling for the $995 RRP. Offered to use my car as a demo, stickers could always get adjusted to suit ;)

Hey Gearhead,

obviously in the sides/corners but does these bars breatly improve the straight on approach angle over the standard bars? especially considering the winch?

that's my biggest prob now with mine. is a bit difficult to compair off pics.

They look great, a mate of mine gave me a flyer for these at the weekend.

I like the outback bars, have the conventional front steel winch bar (think you guys made them for OL) and the dual rear carrier. Gearhead, just a quick question but is it easy to cut and fit a new stub axle on the rear bar, i managed to bend one of mine very slightly  also want to cut and shut the rear arms to suit twin 35's rather than twin 33's. Would you be able to do this at all, PM me if you can.

Cheers

Did you explain what vehicle? There is a difference between the 80 series and 100/GU costs as the wings and centre section are different.
