I know this has been covered, but IMO not correctly. Any chance you can measure your 80 from the centre of the hub to the bottom of the wheel arch flare front and rear? I have a 6inch lift but I have a feeling it has sagged a good 2inches since the engine conversion and over time. I would love some comparisons on various lifts as I think mine looks more like 4inches now.

g35me,

I was going to add my numbers to the other thread, but got confused when the measuring points started to change.

My numbers are..... from hub centre to under lip of guard, I don't have flairs. Umm.. on the 80 :D
Rear, 62cm.
Front, 58cm.
Half of standard fuel load and only the Waeco just behind the front seats.
I will be keeping an eye on this thread, because I don't know if I have a lift kit installed or just AM suspension.
Cheers,
Wayne.

This is a good base to start with, any other stockies out there for comparison, we can take the average of 3 stock vehicles and say that it the baseline.

Sounds about right?

No that wont be right. The rim is 16" where the tyre sits, it will be over 17" on the outer edge.

I found some measurments from my old cruiser that I had posted up on another forum. Just a note these measurments where taken from the bottom of the wheel rim to the top of the flare.
Was at the front 702 and 695mm. Rear was 726 and 719mm (Drivers side then Passenger)
After New lovells springs installed, front 817mm and 800mm and rear, 836 and 821.

Now you guys want centre of rim, 16" rim halved is 8 inches - 203mm so lets see what those distances corrected turn out like
Front 499 and 492mm Rear 523 and 516mm
After front 614 and 597mm Rear 633 and 618mm

Sounds about right?

I feel rather small

Can I put 2" lift springs in my 80 with the orignal shocks? (I can hear a million people yelling "no!" as I type) :!: :!: :!:

Thanks

Dave

of coarse you can....it will not make much differnce, only height, as you shocks will limit your downward articulation...and possibly stuff your shocks. Just my opinion though.
